The Call for Entries for the American Movie Awards screenplay competition is now open. We accept both domestic and international submissions. Mission and Prizes
The American Movie Awards screenplay contest was created to discover and recognize emerging independent screenwriters and to identify and help launch the careers of top, new talent in both film and television scriptwriting. In addition to the awards bestowed, over $5,000 in prizes will be presented to this year's Winners across multiple competition categories along with benefits packages from our sponsors.
Entry in one competition category is included with your entry fee. You may also choose to enter into more than one category. If work is entered in multiple categories, it may win multiple times.

Sumission Methods / Formats
The American Movie Awards proudly accepts entries via FilmFreeway.com, the world's best online submissions platform. FilmFreeway offers free HD online screeners, Vimeo and YouTube integration, and more.
Acceptable screenplay formats for upload include: .PDF, Word, Final Draft, Movie Magic, and Text.
Screenplay Contest Rules and Guidelines
Screenplays written by up to four people may be entered in the script contest. Only one entry fee is required for such entries. All authors' names should be listed.
The American Movie Awards will not share your script with anyone except the judges of the competition.
Hardcopy script materials will not be returned.
Scripts should be no longer than 185 pages.
Scripts may be uploaded via electronic file through FilmFreeway.
Entrants may submit multiple script entries.
Screenplay entrants retain all of their rights, title and interest in their works, screenplays, and intellectual property.
Once you have submitted your screenplay, we cannot accept a new or updated version. If you wish to submit a new version you will have to re-submit the project using the same entry process.
Entrants of all ages are elegible to participate in our screenplay contest.
